WHAT TO BRING

BELOW IS EVERYTHING YOU DANCER NEEDS

LIL GROOVERS

MAKEUP

💄 MAKEUP

Stage lighting can make faces look a little pale, so we use a bit of makeup so everyone’s expressions can be seen clearly on stage — even from the back row! It doesn’t need to be heavy or perfect, just enough to bring out their features under the bright lights.

Here’s a simple guide:

Start with a small amount of foundation or tinted moisturiser that’s slightly darker than their normal shade.

Add a soft pink blush to the cheeks.

Use a light brown eyeshadow on the eyelid with a touch of gold shimmer on the inner corner.

Apply some black mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

You can pack a red lipstick in their bag — our friendly staff will help apply that backstage before they go on 😊

✨ Don’t stress if it’s not perfect — it’s all about helping their faces show up under the lights, not about looking “made up.”

Boys don’t need to wear any makeup.

🎥 A quick video tutorial is below to show you how simple it is!

HAIR

Dancers will require a slick back high ponytail with with hair wrapped around ponytail.

You will need to use a lot of hairspray/gel and a fine tooth comb to achieve the slick look and possibly multiple elastics. Please also use an elastic the same colour as their hair. Ponytail is to be straight.

Please note, for boys neat and tidy hair is all that is required.

CATWALK FINALE COSTUME

All students participate in a red carpet on conclusion of their show students will need to wear their concert t shirt and can wear any bright coloured bottoms. It can be a tutu, tights, skirt, shorts – whatever they would like! We just ask that it is nice and bright and one solid colour with no prints.

EXTRAS

UNDERWEAR

Please be aware that under stage lights, dark coloured or patterned underwear does not look good under light coloured costumes. Please make sure your child is wearing flesh coloured underwear.

HAIR

Boys are welcome to style their hair how they normally would for a nice event — think how you’d do it for dinner out or a special occasion. A little gel or hairspray to keep it tidy and off the face is perfect so it’s not distracting while performing. No makeup is required.

CATWALK FINALE COSTUME

All students take part in a red carpet walk at the conclusion of their show. Boys will need to wear their concert T-shirt and can choose any bright-coloured bottoms — shorts, pants, or even fun-coloured jeans are all fine! We just ask that they’re one solid colour (no prints or patterns) and look neat and vibrant for photos.

EXTRAS

UNDERWEAR
Under the stage lights, brightly coloured or patterned underwear can show through costumes. Please make sure your child is wearing plain, or flesh-coloured underwear so nothing is visible under their costume.

COSTUME POLICY

Costumes will be distributed to students the week of Monday 3rd – Saturday 8th November, in the lead-up to Concert Day on Saturday 15th November. Costumes will only be handed out if all costume deposits have been paid.

Please ensure your child brings their costumes to the concert venue themselves on Concert Day, packed neatly in their garment bag.

After the concert, please keep costumes in their garment bags and don’t use them again until Photo Day (Saturday 22nd – Sunday 23rd November). Store them in a closet, away from direct sunlight and heat, to keep them looking pristine for photos.
