DOES MY DANCER NEED SOCKS FOR HIP HOP AND CHEER?

Most dancers will need to wear their own plain white ankle socks and their own sneakers for the concert.
These should be clean, white, and suitable for dance (no school shoes or high-tops).

The only classes that will have socks provided by us are:

Pre-Teen Hip Hop

Cheer Level 1

Cheer Level 2

These groups’ costumes show their ankles, so we’ll supply matching socks to keep the look consistent.
All other groups wear their own white ankle socks — if your costume has long pants, your socks won’t be seen anyway.

Please keep concert socks and sneakers clean for show day, and wear regular ones to rehearsals.

DOES MY DANCER WEAR THEIR COSTUME TO THE STUDIO FOR PHOTO DAY?

No — please do not wear costumes to the studio.
Come in a loose button-up dress or top and pants that won’t mess up hair or makeup when changing.

HOW DO I PURCHASE PHOTOS ON PHOTO DAY

Photos will be uploaded to an online gallery for families to view and purchase directly.

Every 5th photo free

WHEN DO TICKETS GO ON SALE

Tickets go on sale Thursday 24th October (next Friday) through the Brolga Theatre box office.

We’ll share the booking link and all details before they’re live so you don’t miss out.

WHAT TIME DO WE NEED TO ARRIVE?

10:00am arrival for the 11:00am show

4:00pm arrival for the 5:00pm show
(That’s 1 hour prior to show time unless otherwise noted.)

This gives dancers plenty of time to settle in, get dressed, and get excited before showtime!

CAN I GO BACKSTAGE WITH MY CHILD?

We know it’s a big day for our youngest dancers (and parents!), but we do ask that all parents enjoy the show from the audience so the kids can experience being part of the cast.

On arrival, you’ll drop your dancer off at the stage door (located at the back of the building). Their teachers and student teachers will be there ready to greet them and take them safely to their dressing room.

We’ll have activities and things set up for the kids to do while they wait to dance, so it’s fun and exciting backstage — not just sitting around!

Once your dancer is signed in, you’re free to head around to the front of the theatre and get your seat ready for the show. We promise they’ll be in great hands — our team keeps things calm, organised, and full of smiles.

WHAT IF MY CHILD NEEDS HELP WITH THE TOILET?

We’ve got this covered! There’ll be two staff members on toilet duty wearing bright pink high-vis shirts, so the kids know exactly who to see if they need to go.
They’ll be escorted safely and supervised the whole time.

DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT COSTUMES?

All costumes are sorted by our team, so you don’t need to organise anything extra.

Shoes, stockings, and undergarments are all listed on the “What to Bring” page — complete with handy links so you know exactly what to get.

If there’s anything else specific your dancer needs, we’ll reach out directly via email with all the details.

WHERE DO I PURCHASE SUIT BAGS FROM?

We’re so excited to announce that we have personalised League garment bags this year!
They’re included in your concert fee, so there’s nothing extra you need to organise — we’ve got it covered.

I'M NERVOUS ABOUT MAKEUP AND LIPSTICK

Stage lighting can make faces look pale, so we use a little makeup to help everyone’s expressions shine on stage — nothing heavy or complicated!
Full makeup guides are on the WHAT TO BRING SECTION of this website.

Lipstick: Please don’t apply it at home — just pack it in your child’s bag.
Our friendly staff will apply it backstage once they’re in costume and ready to go.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE SHOW?

After the final bow, all audience members will move into the foyer for our Red Carpet Catwalk — a fun moment where dancers get to strut their stuff and collect their concert medal!

Once your dancer has had their turn on the catwalk, they’ll be free to meet you in the foyer.
After that, one parent or Guardian head backstage with your dancer to collect their belongings and head off to celebrate a great show
